So much to do , So little time
I haven't been bloging for a while now. I have just been viewing other sewing blogs. Oh, but I have been shopping. My daughter has been helping me to restrain but the sales have been great. I have a lot on my plate, with 3 teenagers and a 21 year old. It is generally thought that the older your children are the less they need you. DON"T believe that. When they are young they my dum mistakes but when they are older they can make LIFE CHANGING MISTAKES. So we as parents need to watch more closely. I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for prayer.
I definitely have to depend on the Lord to help me.
I am also in school, I got a "A" on my midterm paper . :-))))
My middle son is in the process of graduating from High school - he is on the football team and can think of nothing else but football.
The other 2 are faring well in school & the other normal stuff.
(Boyfriends, girlfriends, what shall I wear?, What's the latest this that & the other, what they want for christmas) All the stuff teens do.
My husband.....oh enough said

Pattern sale & another nice surprise.
I made it to the Joann's Fabric sale. They had Vogue patterns on sale for 3.99, the average regular price was 25.00. I found all but one of the patterns I wanted. I wasn't there to purchase fabric but as I was peeking through the aisles a satin brocade fabric caught my eye. I began to wonder were I had seen this fabric before. Then it came to me - my husband just brought a new red shirt & matching tie. Take a look at the similarity. It's not an exact match but it is close enough. Maybe I can make an accessory for myself. Take a look.

Now, back to sewing.
I haven't sewn anything for myself for a while. I got discouraged because I didn't know how to upload pics. But, I have got that down to a science now. Anyhow Joann Fabrics has a sale on Vogue Patterns tomorrow. I have a few Sandra B Patterns I want to pick up. I hope they have the patterns I want.
I want to learn how to follow other blogs. Those of you who have sewing blogs - trust me I enjoy viewing your blogs. You are my inspiration. I just want to be able to list them on my blog. If anyone can help please feel free to email me.

Circle of Sisters in NYC Part 2
I also got to meet & talk with Chef Jeff , his life is a testimony of what preservence, determination & hard work will take you. His life story is truly inspirational. He has a show on the Food Network - the Chef Jeff Project. He made a shrimp dish & cornbread. Unfortunatley I could taste it becasue I am allergic to shell fish, but everyone said it was very tasty.
Circle of Sisters in NYC
I haven't been blogging lately- mainly I have been following other blogs. So let me catch up. My daughter & I went to an event here in NYC called "Circle of Sisters". The event in basically to cater to the needs of the total woman. It covered health & wellness issues as well as the normal hair care , make-up, etc. I went to a workshop entitled "Raising Families" , it was very good. Rev. Run & his wife Justine were on the panel. Later that evening there was a concert with Regina Bell, Jennifer Hudson, Lyfe Jennings & others.
It was a fun - "Girls Day Out"
I also got to meet to very special people. The Next Food Network Star winner Aaron McCargo Jr. aka "Big Daddy". He made a parfait which looked delicious. I got a chance to taste the topping which was made with coconut & orange zest. It was very tasty. His personality is so very endearing, he really is down to earth.

I need to check my blog more often
I enjoy viewing the sewing blogs of others & neglect to check my OWN blog. It's nice to see that others are viewing but I must admit - it's time to give you something to view. (LOL)
I am currently still learning how to add pictures & add my favorite blog sites.

It's been a long time.
It has been a while since I have been on the blog. I have been ill - I am on the mend now. While I am recuperating I have been doing some reading (learn how to work better with knits). I have had my children bring my embroidery & sewing machines to my dining room table. I want to sew as much as possible before I have to go back to work. I am currently working on a praise dance outfit for a friend from church.

Organize, Organize, Organize!
Thank you for the warm welcome. Right now I am working organizing my sewing room, which included giving away a rubbermaid container full of fabrics.(at least 20 pieces 3- 6 yds each). This took time because I kept imagining what I could of, should of made with each piece of fabric that I gave away. Oh the agony!

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK
I am new to all of this. I find it so interesting to read all of the blogs. There is so much helpful information. I also identify with many of the ups & down of sewing. This is a wonderful forum. I have spent hours viewing the different blog pages. It gives me inspiration. I took a sewing class in high school and I have been sewing ever since. It is a passion for me such as many of yourselves.
I will be posting pictures when I learn how (LOL). I need to learn how to link PR to this site.
